Siemens controllers can be programmed to send real-time information from a manufacturing process to FairCom Edge, where it can be stored in tables for any desired length of time. The long-term storage capabilities of the database, make it possible to analyze the causes of product defects as they are reported by customers.

The full functionality of the FairCom database can be leveraged to monitor and analyze that information in order to watch for problems, identify trends, realize efficiency improvements, and so forth. By having the controllers send data to FairCom Edge, the OT professionals can keep the controllers focused on the real-time manufacturing task at hand, enabling IT professionals to independently use the data as they see fit.
