TheFairCom Edge Siemens S7 service can connect to and interact with Siemens S7 devices. This service is included in the FairCom jsonAction API.

Siemens S7 is a client/server unified architecture that supports Siemens S7 devices only. A typical Siemens S7 system includes a hardware device that acts as a server that is connected to sensors or other equipment.

Siemens S7 devices are identified by IP address, rack and slot number and their data are identified by memory area type, data block number, offset and dataType.

The FairCom Edge Siemens S7 service can capture Siemens S7 data from Siemens S7 devices for forwarding to other non-Siemens S7 systems. It can be enabled and disabled within the FairCom Edge server.
