GUI Execution Using FairCom DB SQL Explorer on Windows

To execute Interactive SQL samples using FairCom DB SQL Explorer on Windows, follow the steps below.

• Be sure the c-tree server is running. See Starting the FairCom Database Engine.

1. Start FairCom DB SQL Explorer. Its path in your FairCom installation is tools\gui\c-treeSqlExplorer.exe.
2. Connect to FairCom DB SQL installed on your computer:

   

• Once you are connected (you will see a confirmation dialog) move to the "Scripts" tab and press the Load button from the top tools strip.
• Move to the drivers\sql.cli\tutorials directory in your FairCom installation and open iSQL_Tutorial1.sql.

  

• Click the Run button to execute the tutorial or you may execute the commands step by step using the SingleStep button:

  

• Now repeat these steps for all the tutorials provided in the sql.cli\tutorials directory.

Notice that the fourth tutorial generates several of the following errors: “Error : -20116 Error Description : Constraint violation”. This is expected, correct behavior, and should not be a cause for concern.
